After getting on a rather dodgy-looking bus in Tirana, we managed to reach the center of Shkodër. Luckily, the hostel was nearby and we were greeted by the owners and showed around.
The hostel looked nice: very welcoming and friendly, especially because of the open area where all the travelers could rest or socialize.
The owners brought us to a nearby restaurant and we devoured the food.
Already from the first morning we had loads of work to do: alarm at 6am and up to prepare breakfast and getting to know the chores of the hostel. Tough but, hey, part of the experience!
The following day, learning that there was a very old and beautiful bridge not far from the hostel, I took the chance to grab the bike and take a look during our break.
It was a nice ride there. Outside of the city center, surrounded by nature and sparse housing. One can only imagine how this now not-so-used bridge and river would have been back in the day.
I proceeded along the road and started climbing the hill until the darkness stopped me, at which point I turned the bike around and begun my next challenge: getting back alive (SPOILER: I did).
